MBChB (UCT), MMed (Stell), FCPsych

I am an experienced specialist psychiatrist practising in West Beach, Table View. My undergraduate qualification (MBChB) was completed at the University Of Cape Town. Before embarking on my psychiatric pathway, I practised general practice medicine in private and at community Day Hospitals, trauma and emergency centres and in cardiology. I obtained my psychiatric experience in Cape Town and Johannesburg where I also completed my post graduate specialist psychiatric training (MMed) at Stellenbosch University, before obtaining membership (FCPsych) of the College of Psychiatry of South Africa.

Further work experience took me to The United Kingdom where I spent 8 years before returning to South Africa to begin private practice.

I am fully licensed and hold full registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I also hold registration with The General Medical Council in the United Kingdom. My practice adopts a holistic approach to patient care and I follow the biopsychosocial model of health and mental illness. My treatments are evidence-based and I make use of the best clinical practice. Where necessary, I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and physicians.

I manage and treat most psychiatric conditions.
